Panoramas of the World

Narrows (Zion National Park)

Each year, thousands of people stroll around the Narrows in the Zion National Park, where this panorama photo was taken. It is impossible to complete this strolling around in Utah without getting wet.

A large part of this walk takes place on the Virgin River, which may narrow itself very strongly in some places. Then steep sandstone walls are close to 600 meters at both bank sides. For this reason, the walk should be performed only in good weather. Otherwise the water level may rise fast, and the current will increase in power. Even with a distant thunderstorm, the river changes into rapid waters.
