Panoramas of the World

Seattle I

Seattle is the largest city in Washington State. Because of frequent rain, it is also called Rainy City. This panorama photo was taken at the edge of Elliott Bay.

The city carries the name of the Indian Chief Seattle.  In 1962, the world’s fair took place here, and that’s why the Space Needle was built. Today it is a landmark of the city. By the way, the coffee house chain Starbucks is also located here.  Until 2001 Seattle was also the headquarters of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
