Panoramas of the World

Garden Route / Otter Trail (South Africa)

The Garden Route along the southern coast of South Africa reaches from Still Bay in the west to Plettenberg Bay in the east. This is one of the most visited regions of South Africa.

The landscape along the the Garden Route is very attractive - original forests, enormous Yellowwood trees, white beaches, and up to 1700 meter high mountains. Some of the small national parks and nature reserves are very popular amongst hikers. In particular, the Otter Trail is very popular. This panorama picture was taken there. During the five days walk, you have to cross rivers and pass some wonderful coastal regions. If you are lucky, you will even see an otter.
