Panoramas of the World

Abel Tasman National Park

The Abel Tasman National Park is located on the northern edge of the South Island of New Zealand. Since there are many hiking possibilities in New Zealand, sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman is a good alternative.

If you want to paddle into the Frenchman Bay (panorama picture) in the Abel Tasman National Park, you must consider tides carefully. Only at certain times is it possible to reach the lagoon from the Tasman Sea. If you forget the time in this paradise, you will have to wait several hours, until the tide raises the water level high enough to paddle back again. There is no hiking trail to the Frenchman Bay. From the water you can observe penguins, dolphins, sea-dogs, and skates.
