Fish Market I (Tokyo)

The fish market in Tsukiji is the largest in the world. Every day, more than 2000 tons of fish and seafood are sold here.

Trucks deliver the fish as early as 2 in the morning, which is then sold to wholesale dealers, restaurant, and owners of shops around the market. Around 5:30 am, the fish auction starts. Tuna fish up for auction can reach a weight of up to 300 kilograms. Later on, retailers come by in order to buy their fish. Here you will find anotherpanorama photo.
