The Pincio in the northern part of the city does not belong to the Seven Hills of Rome, but the view from here is outrageous. Nobody knows exactly what was located here in the old Rome. In the late republic, mansions and gardens were built here, and then at the beginning of the 19th century a park and a promenade. On this hill the tomb of Domitii is also located, where the ashes of Nero were buried. Probably the name of the hill may be traced back to the family of Pincii, who owned large premises here. |
