Piazza Mercanti (Milan)

Here was the heart of the city of Milan in the Middle Ages. At the Piazza Mercanti you can see the former city hall, the Palazzo della Ragione, which was built in 1233.

On the north side of the Piazza the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti is located. In former times, six gates opened to the six city parts of Milan at this place.
