The Hiddensee island extends over a length of nearly 17 kilometers. The width of the island varies between 250 meters and 3.7 kilometers. Within the national park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, it is the largest island and belongs to the district Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Hiddensee is located in front of the island Rügen in northern Germany. The panorama photo was taken from the Bakenberg, on which the lighthouse Dornbusch is located. The mountain is 72 meters high, and there are 102 steps up to the lighthouse. The lighthouse was put into operation in 1888. |
