The Rickmer Rickmers is located at Hamburg Landungsbrücken. Today it is a museum ship. The sailing boat was built in Bremerhaven in 1896. The base is almost 100 meters long. Up until 1916, the Rickmer Rickmers sailed under the flag of Germany. During this time, 14 round trips led it to Indochina, Australia, South America, and the USA. During World War I, the ship was seized by the Portuguese, later it became a school ship for the Portuguese navy. In 1983, the association “Windjammer für Hamburg” bought the ship and transported it to Hamburg. Since September 1987, the SS Rickmer Rickmers is located at the Fiete Schmidt Anleger and is open to visitors. |
