The Binnenalster is the smaller, southern part of the Alstersee in Hamburg. The fontaine in the center of the Binnenalster reaches a height of up to 60 meters. The Jungfernstieg is a promenade at the south bank of the Inner Alster Lake. It was the first street in Germany to be asphaltic in 1838. |
