The Lustgarten got its name in September 1999. The place between Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse, Spree, Cathedral and the Old Museum was paved in 1935. The stones gave way to extensive lawns, flowers, and water plays in 1999. The landscape gardener Hans Loidl used the old drafts by Karl Friedrich Schinkel from 1828 for the transformation of this place. |
