Torres del Paine is probably the most famous national park in South America. It attracts numerous tourists every year, who usually spend several days there. The three Torres del Paine (towers) rise up to 2000 meters and became the landmark of Chile. The national park located on the border to Argentina with its lakes, rivers, ravines, and waterfalls is frequently called Alaska in miniature format. It became the homeland of guanacos, condors and flamingos. The park exists since 1959 and streches over 240,000 hectares. |
