The Skyline Trail is probably the most breathtaking hike in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. From its 44 kilometers of length, 25 kilometers of the trail are above the treeline. This hike offers an open view of the skyline of the surrounding mountains. Hikers need three days for the Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park, especially the second day leads across the high mountain ridges. On a clear day, even Mount Robson may be seen in the distance. It is 80 kilometers away. The entire panorama of the trail opens up when “The Notch” is reached. From here on it is more like walking on the roof of the world. The view is reminscent of the view out of the window of an airplane. |
