The Consolation Lake is one of the most popular hikes in the proximity of Moraine Lake in the Banff National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. From the banks of Moraine Lake, the Rockpile Trail at the foot of Mount Babel leads directly to Lower Consolation Lake a few kilometers away, the altitude difference is only 65 meters. Upper Consolation Lake is far more difficult to reach. Hikers should watch out for bears. The forest continually presents views of the mountain summits covered with ice. |
